Open link behavior will not set

After a PC crash, upon reopening my FF I discovered that EVERYTHING was reset to default values. Now, the only thing that will not return to what I had is the link opening behavior. Despite "options" and "tab mix plus" values set to "current tab", it still opens every link (even login buttons) in another tab. Nothing I do has mitigated this in the least.

Every time Firefox opened

After a PC crash, upon reopening my FF I discovered that EVERYTHING was reset to default values. Now, the only thing that will not return to what I had is the link opening behavior.
