I want the search bar to display the suggestions, but not my search history. I don't mind if it saves the history or not, I just don't want to see it every time a use the search bar.
I know how to clear the history and how to show suggestions, but I want to show the suggestions, not the history

The setting to turn off showing your search history also turns off form autocomplete on websites. For details of how to turn it off, see Prevent Firefox from storing form entries
There is no way to have the suggestions but not the search history?!
The setting will turn off search bar history and form autocomplete on web sites, but it will still show the search suggestions on supported sites such as Google.
You can right-click the icon in the Search Bar and use Clear Search History. You should also turn off Show Suggestions in that menu, too. Not every search engine uses that feature, but it is for retrieving search suggestions from the search engine's server.
