Now that you mention it it does seem like it started happening after I installed AVG. Although I really like that plugin. Anyone know any add ons that do similar things?

Start Firefox in Diagnose Firefox issues using Troubleshoot Mode to check if one of your add-ons is causing your problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Tools > Add-ons > Themes).

  • Don't make any changes on the Safe mode start window.

See Troubleshoot extensions, themes and hardware acceleration issues to solve common Firefox problems and Troubleshoot issues with plugins like Flash or Java to fix common Firefox problems

See also the about:memory page, via the location bar.

It hasnt happened since disabling that AVG add-on and has gone from running a baseline normal or 100,ooo - 150,000 K to running at 60,000 - 90,000 K. Idk if this is inappropriate to ask here but is it normal for svchost to be taking up 100,000 K. P.S. thanks for the about:memory trick thats kinda cool
