Having worked perfectly till yesterday, Firefox now doesnt close properly so won't restart without a system reboot.

OS Windows 7. All other programs working normally. Firefox icon pinned to the taskbar. From fresh system start clicking icon produces nothing. Right-clicking it and choosing to run Firefox starts it. If I close it and come back to it later it won't run at all. Task manager shows Firefox.exe already running inder processes but it doesnt appear under the Applications tab. The only way to get it to work is to restart Windows.
