How do I report a phishing attempt to download Firefox?
In the link area, I typed in the address for my bank. Up popped a window with a tab that said "Please Update Firefox" from address ab3m.info/affy/lp/ff5.php?keyword=ron_98795. The window had the Firefox logo, next to which it said "Outdated Browser Detected" (I kept a screen grab if you need it). It also said "You are currently using Firefox 222 which is now outdated. Please Update The Latest Version Of Firefox (Recommended).
I downloaded the file and realized there was something not right about it. I promptly threw it away. I went back to look carefully at the window that suggested a download and at the bottom, it says
"Disclaimer: We are not affiliated with Firefox. Firefox has not authored, participated in, or in anyway reviewed this advertisement or authorized it. All trademarks, service marks, logos, and/or domain names (including the names of products and retailers) are property of their respective owners."

kristinanewhouse,
Thanks for reporting that. It is the sort of thing deliberately designed to catch people off guard, and who knows what the site will actually do.
I did not actually try to see what the site offers to download. It could be Firefox bundled with something or even outright malware.
I have made the link in the OP none clickable, and attach a quick screenshot of the site.
Phillip,
Thanks for the report link. It is something I was aware of but have never tried. The report form however would not work for me. I have not attempted to file a bug for that, but I did at least fire off an email reporting the problem and the violation. No doubt someone will follow up both as necessary.

hello kristinanewhouse, if a website uses the firefox logo to trick users into downloading malware, you can report it at https://www.mozilla.org/en-US/legal/fraud-report/ so that mozilla can have a look at it & take further action...
