Hello Re: iMac 9,1 Intel Core 2 Duo 2.66 GHz OSX 10.6.8 RAM 8GB FF 26.0. The problem started when I was unable to shutdown; FF was not responding & required a force quit. On next startup FF would not open. Error message with code #1702 (not sure) appeared. Ran disk utility in repair mode. Attempted to start FF, no go. Ran Disk Warrior 4.4. Still wouldn’t open. Ran Rember RAM Test. Still wouldn’t open. My new error message states FF 26.0 may be damaged or incomplete. I have been unable to start in safe mode. I have not submitted any crash reports. I don’t want to reset to default & lose prefs & ad-ons (scrapbook). I welcome your input. Thanks.

Create a new profile as a test to check if your current profile is causing the problems. See "Creating a profile":
