I've left BT, and they're going to delete all my folders - inbox, sent and drafts. Is there anyway I can keep them? Is there some way I could forward them to my gmail address?

Is this an IMAP account?
If so, move all messages off of the server to your 'Local Folders'.
If your Gmail account is IMAP as well you can then upload them to the Gmail server.

GMail has the feature to import emails from another mail account, so you can look for this feature.
This can take some time if there are a lot of mails that need to be imported.
