I have saved some e-mails in a separate folder (not part of my T-bird e-mail system). I am now consolidating the info from the old msgs in a Word document. But after I've done that,

I can't get rid of the original saved T-bird msg files.

My operating system is Windows 7. The saved e-mails in question are in my "documents" lineup, in a created folder.

Windows is you issue, and more specifically the windows search.

If you right click the file name -> select properties -> down at the bottom select Advanced -> then Uncheck "Allow this file to have contents ........" -> select OK -> select OK. Then delete the file..

Once you move them out of the Thunderbird profile it has no control over them. If they are in your Documents folder you would delete them with the operating system controls just like any other file.

I've tried to delete them with the delete button -- and by defining them and hitting "delete" -- and by dragging them to the "wastebasket" -- and none of those efforts have succeeded. I am now trying something different: Moving the things I want to save out of the existing folder into a newly created one. Then I will try deleting the entire old folder. Maybe that will work. ??? --Charlotte Craig creekside@semo.net
