hello i have had a problem with thunderbird for a few weeks now.

indexing/updating messages takes a VERY long time.

i use email on WP.PL

i have limited synchronization to 1 year back. despite this, the program freezes a lot when updating emails.

it is impossible to use it during this time. after clicking you have to wait a dozen or so seconds for a reaction.

i have a 1 gigabit connection. despite this, downloading each message takes a few dozen seconds.

i tried reinstalling the program, it did not work.

where to look for the problem?

I've used Thunderbird for years, and I LOVE it! A few days ago, my hard drive died. I had it replaced, and I've used my data backup to recover much. I did NOT have programs/apps backed up. I need VERY SPECIFIC steps to download and reinstall Thunderbird so that it uses my old profile. Should I first delete EVERYTHING having to do with Thunderbird and start anew? I did download it today and then went to the C:Users/Owner/AppData/Roaming/Thunderbird folder. In that folder, I deleted the "new" profile file (I think!). Then I moved my backed up folder called Profiles into that directory. I tried to get Thunderbird to use that profile, but no luck. I'm reasonably intelligent (I've been told!), but I can't figure how to do this, and I truly need a step-by-step blueprint. Do I download Thunderbird first? If so, what do I then do to make it find the old profile. I'm running Windows 11 Home on a PC. Right now, I'm going for a long walk to clear my brain. In the interim, if one of you really smart, nice experts could give me instructions on how to do this, I'd be eternally grateful. I have numerous folders, and some really important old emails in that old profile. I also would like to be able to retrieve my address book and calendars ... which I ASSUME are part of the old profile. Thanks in advance for ANY assistance! Don't assume I know ANYTHING!!

I have a Samsung Phone 2024 with Firefox installed and set as my default browser. Firefox is my default browser on my PC, has been for a very long time and always will be. The only way I have found to check for Firefox updates on my Phone is to enable and open Google Play Store. This is not a complaint or serious issue. Only a tiny bit inconvenient. Thank you. Shaun. I want to synchronise my Firefox account on Windows after having done this on Linux. Both run on the same laptop. I can't find the scan function in Firefox on my mobile to complete the sync.

I am using Thunderbird version 128.7.0esr on Windows 11 Pro. I moved my Mail folder (and sub-folders) on my local drive. I re-directed each of 4 email accounts to their new sub-folder. The emails are downloading from the email host's POP3 server. New email messages are not visible in any of the inboxes. The counter shows the number increasing when messages are downloading. Global search does not find the new emails. The new emails show when I right click on any of the inboxes and select "Search Messages" (From/Contains."@"). I tried manually removing the Inbox.msf from one account, but did not fix when I restarted. I tried the Repair Folder button (right click Properties on Inbox folder), but did not fix. I know the emails are on my computer, but I cannot get to them without the very cumbersome "search messages" function. Suggestions?

I've never had sponsored shortcuts and suddenly today I've got them. I've attempted the disable the "sponsored shortcuts" on my desktop however its greyed out.

Starting state - Shortcuts selected, sponsored selected and grey Procedure: 1.) Deselect shortcuts, select shortcuts, sponsored becomes cyan 2.) Click sponsored, it becomes grey again 3.) Deselect shortcuts, select shortcuts, sponsored becomes cyan (again) 4.) Click sponsored, it appears deselected 5.) Hit refresh and it returns to starting state

I do not edit my GPO or registry, settings are not controlled by an organization, I am not confusing sponsored shortcuts with pinned search engines.

If marking messages as Junk help train TB, does deleting ALL messages in the Junk folder also undo that training, by getting rid of junk mail "models" TB uses for evaluating incoming new messages?

My monitors are QFD ( 2560 x 1440 ) and I use font scale 125%. With the most recent Firefox these fonts are garbled. They do not display properly. I am using MS Edge for the time being.

Been using Thunderbird for 10 years and just recently I started getting the following error message which has my PC mail client locked up and my phone mail system also is unable to send mail.

Sending of the message failed. The message was not sent due to exceeding the allowed number of recipients. The server responded: <larrybax2r@charter.net> service temporarily unavailable. Of course I tried Spectrum technical support and they were of no help. They said it is not their error message and they blame it on Thunderbird.

What do I have to do to fix this?

ImportExportTools NG Help shows: Message Index

   HTML Format 	Creates an HTML index file of the folder messages (no message export)
   CSV Format 	Creates a CSV index file of the folder messages (no message export)

Message Index -> CSV Format looks perfect for me.

This function does not appear anywhere I can find, either under Tools->ImportExportNG , or under the ImportExport top-level menu bar.

How do I find ImportExportTools NG->Message Index ?

I have been using Thunderbird for decades.

I have installed Thunderbird (V128.6.lesr) on my new Lenovo Yoga 9, Windows 11. It constantly hangs and is slow to load. It doesn't recognize my addresses when I use compose, even though my address books are installed. I have uninstalled, reinstalled, tried troubleshooting/safe mode multiple times. I have compacted. Emptied junk. Everything. I have copied my old settings into the new installation. Nothing works.

I think I need someone to just look at my Thunderbird set up. Someone a lot younger than I am who knows what he or she is doing.

Please help.

Hi All, I want to block traffic on firefox externally for managed devices via Intune, following the import of the ADMX/ADML files into intune.

I have set '\Mozilla\Firefox\Exceptions to blocked websites' to the following

• //*.mydomain.com/*

which works, however, I also want to add hosts that are only resolving on IPs and not DNS. I can add specific IPs if known, but is there a way I can allow IP ranges? Ie

• //10.10.*/* (this doesn't currently work)

Of the included screenshot, only the wildcard for mydomain.com and the specific IP currently work

If there is a better way to do this via intune for firefox only, please let me know.
