Cannot send or receive mails
Bonjour, I have used TB fore more than 20 years without major problems but today I am stuck. The TB version I run on is: 128.6.0esr (64 bits) on Windows 10 I use three accounts with Orange, one has the problem, not the two others. Originally the settings were the same on all three/
pop.orange.fr Port 110, default 110 SMTP France Telecom / Orange Port 587, default 587
Having sought help from the French (my mother tong) TB forum, one suggested to replace those settings for: pop.orange.fr Port 995, default 110 SMTP France Telecom / Orange Port 465, default 587 As a result I no longer received the ERROR message asking me for a password, instead a small blue segment showed on the bottom right of my screen and, after a while...nothing: no mail IN no mail OUT. I tried these new settings on the two other accounts with just the same result: no mail IN no mail OUT. So I went back to the original ones.
Has anyone a clue?

I can't definitively help you - that will have to wait for someone with more understanding.
However, I note that three orange.fr customers have had log in problems this morning. And a few more in the last few days.
There were two suggested solutions here - https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/1444408 - which were posted just under a year ago.
There have also been a few Email providers who have changed the method of authentication (and not told anyone - perhaps they've migrated people systematically?) - so I'd check this with orange.fr.
Please reply to this post so that your question goes back into the list of ones that need attention.

Je ne peux pas vraiment vous aider, il faudra attendre que quelqu'un de plus compréhensif vous le dise.
Je constate cependant que trois clients d'Orange.fr ont rencontré des problèmes de connexion ce matin. Et quelques autres ces derniers jours.
Deux solutions ont été suggérées ici - https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/1444408 - qui ont été publiées il y a un peu moins d'un an.
Il y a également eu quelques fournisseurs de messagerie qui ont changé la méthode d'authentification (et n'ont prévenu personne - peut-être ont-ils fait migrer les gens systématiquement ?) - je vérifierais donc cela avec Orange.fr.

Bonjour Frisée, I'm puzzled, should I write in English or in French. Well! never mind. As you said that does not help me much, I already tried the two solutions suggested without success. Thanks anyway. Christian
