What's your computer system and Firefox version?

What are in these unwanted windows? Ads?

Go to the Mozilla Add-ons Web Page {web Link} (There’s a lot of good stuff here) and search for a good ad blocker.

Dads system is windows 7. He has latest Firefox he showed me when we screen shared he opened Craigslist. Started looking around but as soon as he opened Craigslist it started opening browsers with out him clicking on a picture to open it. With in a minute up above there were like 20 or more browsers running while he was surfing the web. Which then made his computer started running really slow. He has pop up blocker on but it is not stopping browsers from opening without him opening them

You may have ad/mal-ware. Further information can be found in this article; https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/troubleshoot-firefox-issues-caused-malware?cache=no

Run most or all of the listed malware scanners. Each works differently. If one program misses something, another may pick it up.
