Firefox remembers previous downloads in spite of settings
I have told Firefox to not remember download history. In spite of this Firefox uses the web page to suggest a download directory as different directories sre suggested for different podcasts, all .mp3. If I look at history -> all history I can find no sign of this but if the suggested directory follows web pages there has to be a record (the keeping of which has been forbidden) somewhere?
And I suppose this should be a separate gripe, but since a list of all installed plugins is required it would be so very wonderfull to copy - paste them from the actual plugin list instead of the about:plugins I managed to google.

hello, per default firefox stores the last download-directory used for each site (but not what was downloaded if you've disabled it in the privacy options).
in case you want to disable that feature, enter about:config into the location bar (you might have to confirm the info dialog), then right-click somewhere on the page and create a new boolean setting named browser.download.lastDir.savePerSite (mind the upercase/lowercase) and set its value to false.

From a technical point of view this in fact solves my problem. Thank you a lot for helping me so quickly and please don't take the following rant personally. Just something I have to say out loud.
Since there are two configuration settings that already explicitly prohibit this behaviour (in my case) this was a lot of work for something I had already taken care of. Did I mumble when I told the browser not to remember download or browsing history?
