Is it possible to have the new tab page only show sites I put there (3 at the moment) without it automatically adding recently visited sites? I like the feature and use it as a kind of start page but I don't want to see random sites I have visited showing up there all the time, I just want to see the ones I put there myself. If it is not possible then it might be a nice feature for a next release?

Hi,

As of now, one way you could try is to pin the needed sites and then select to Clear history when Firefox closes in Tools (Alt + T) > Options > Privacy + the Browsing History inside its Settings.

New tab

Yes, I thought of that, but I actually use my history often to find sites which I visited earlier so it's not really a workable option for me unfortunately. Of course I could find some more sites to pin there but it somehow seems logical to me that you can have the new tab page without it using your history to fill it.

Yeah, its only logical that such a functionality exists. Maybe there is already a hidden preference. Let's hope a full fledged feature is added like the Location Bar option in Privacy. Meanwhile I've submitted a feature request :)

Just drag other pages (e.g. about:blank) on the other slots.
