In the address bar i can access previous web sites that i have used, one web site that i return to often is "my.yahoo.com". Suddenly i found on the second line of "my.yahoo.com" a "switch to tab" indicator. This prevents me from going to my. yahoo.com (it keeps me in page that i am currently accessing). The only way to go to my yahoo is to close firefox and re-enter firefox . how do i remove t he switch to tab indicator?

I found an extension that does this although I'm pretty sure userChrome.css can be used as well but my CSS is rudimentary at best so I wouldn't be able to generate that for you. Someone else can, most likely. We have tons of volunteers here.

If you try to open the same URL in more than one tab then you may have the "Switch to tab" feature preventing that. Hold down the Alt or Shift key while an entry in the drop down list is highlighted to disable "Switch to tab" and see the URL of all entries instead.

  • Alt + Enter opens the highlighted URL in a new tab.
  • Shift + Enter opens the highlighted URL in the current tab.
  • Cursor Right copies the highlighted URL to the location bar in case you want to edit it.
