Changing the location of firefox temp files is done by doing these steps :

->>>Open firefox

2) type about:config in the address bar 3) Promise that you'll be careful

4) Right click anywhere in the browser and goto 'New' and select 'New String' from the Menu.

5) Enter browser.cache.disk.parent_directory as the preference name

6) Enter the path to the new cache location, example: d:\firefox_temp.

NOTE: You can also create another string (in addition) called browser.cache.offline.parent_directory

Enter the path to the new cache location, example: d:\firefox_temp.

Thank you.

This function may be one of the few things that IE does better than Firefox. IE lets you change the temporary file location in Tools - Internet options - Settings. Firefox developers should make this task easier and put the instructions in the Help file where they can be easily found.

Since I use an SSD for Drive C, I have learned that any file(s) that are frequently written to should be moved elsewhere to a conventional HDD.

You can also use the Profile Manager to create a profile folder on that other drive by clicking the "Choose Folder" button to specify a specific folder. Be sure to specify a name and empty folder and not a folder that already has other files.
