I'm having a problem forwarding. I have a main computer and a backup. On TB on my main computer, I highlighted three messages to forward to someone. Then I hit the wrong key or something and they disappeared. Since I save messages on the server for a while, I went to the backup computer and TB there downloaded them. Since I want copies on my main computer, I tried forwarding them to myself. They come back to the backup computer normally, but they don't get to the main computer.

I tried emailing myself in both directions - that works. I tried forwarding a different message - that works.

What could be the problem?

I don't know how to use IMAP to do it.

I couldn't find anything to work, so I took the easy way out and pasted the message to a new message and sent it to myself. That worked.

More information:

The three missing messages are not in the trash or junk folders on my main computer.

I'm trying to forward them from the backup computer individually.

Also, the missing messages are still on the server.

Could you use IMAP and thereby avoid all the silly forwarding?

If not, look at the Mail Redirect add-on. It's better suited to the business of moving messages between different accounts via email.

Marking the affected messages as unread on the server may help, or you could delete the popstate.dat file in Thunderbird's profile section for this account on the main computer.
