1 Bookmark of 100 others opens in the bookmark panel - fix ?
Using XP SP-3 with FF 30 now - After 29.0 update - when I click on one of my most used bookmarks - it opens in the bookmark panel unless I right click it to open in new tab or new window. If it opens in a new Window it opens in the proper way - No other bookmarks of 100+ do this - The Same bookmark does not open in another panel on other computer with Windows XP Pro and also 30.0. Odd !

Hi Mstuf, I doubt anyone was heartbroken, I think everyone knows you can't please all the users all the time.
The UI changes introduced in Firefox 29 were years in the making, and the Classic Theme Restorer extension was developed and tested over an extended period of time right alongside those test versions of Firefox. The strong add-on developer community is a critical factor making it possible for Mozilla to branch out in new directions without becoming hopelessly bogged down maintaining old code. You'll see in the "Firefox Tour" on the help menu that Mozilla promotes add-ons as a key reason for considering Firefox to be the most customizable browser.

There is a checkbox in the Bookmarks Properties dialog to "Load this bookmark in the sidebar". You can access Properties by right-clicking the bookmark. It's worth checking to make sure that is not set.
If the checkbox is clear, try switching it on and off. Check it to set it, and OK that change, then go back into Properties and uncheck it and OK that change. If all is working correctly, this should make the database match the dialog.
Otherwise... no idea why the bookmarked page would open in the sidebar.
Thank You - Seems so Simple now - I Never even knew that option existed. I would bet that less than half the FF users only know about, use or need one third of all the features these days. The rest are just confused. How it got marked in the 29.0 update is a mystery -- so much changed from 28 to 29 - it still confuses me and I long for good ol 28.0 - I accidentaly OKd the update from 29. to 30. and it seemed harmless and dred what 31 might change now that I just getting used to 29/30. My Son says there is an App that makes 29/30 look and act like 28 ? I Never will understand why when something works good we cant just leave it alone. Nothing ever gets better just more confusing. LOL Just about the time I get comfortable with something these days - it changes. Thank You for getting this much used bookmark back on track.
"Load this bookmark in the sidebar" has been in Firefox since day one back in 2002, it's not a new feature.
Don't use the feature on some website's for "Bookmark this Page" - that is usually how that 'tick-box' gets check-marked. There are 5 different ways in Firefox to save a new bookmark, use those instead.
To change the appearance of the toolbar area, there is indeed a very comprehensive add-on. This article has more information: How to make the new Firefox look like the old Firefox.
Thanks Both of you for the Help and ideas
Must be so heartbreaking for developers to spend months thinking they are making something better and thinking to users will like it - only to find that within a few days someone has made an app to Void it.
