Whenever I try to use Mozbackup to restore my database, everything looks fine. The number of messages, etc., you'd think you're set to log on and go.

As soon as I log on to my (only) account, everything is deleted. Everything. And it is being deleted one by one, not a mass dump.

Anything I can/do before logging in is fine. But that doesn't allow dump load.

I can't find some way to export/import, either. Requires log on.

Please. Lots of important messages.

database? Perhaps you mean Profile?

Do you have a Pop mail account or IMAP mail account?

I suspect that it is an IMAP mail account. When you connect to the server, it will synchronise with server, so making your Thunderbird match the server. As the emails have just been added to the Thunderbird copy and not the server, I think you are seeing those emails removed because they are not on the server.

Instead, put all backup emails into 'Local Folders'. Then connect with server to GetMail. Now move the emails into the IMAP mail account to get onto the server. do a few at first. check they are on the server.

Note the file created by MozBackup is *.pcv Edit the .pcv to say .zip then you can unzip the file to see individual files and folders. You can then use ImportExporttool to move them into Local Folders. More info:
