The difference between the two pages is right at the end, were the crashing file has a valid < to open a An error message instead of crashing and taking all the system memory would be something the developers might want to consider adding in a future release. I would vote for adding the error message and removing the password deleter that can unannouned with the last upgrade.

p.s. I would have to say, Firefox's way of crashing when no other browsers crash, with no error message and taking all the system memory from my computer into its death dive, has to be worst but I ever saw.

I tried both, no problem.

Many site issues can be caused by corrupt cookies or cache.

• Clear the Cache and

• Remove Cookies Warning ! ! This will log you out of sites you're logged in to.

Type about:preferences<Enter> in the address bar.

• Cookies; Select Privacy. Under History, select Firefox will Use Custom Settings. Press the button on the right side called Show Cookies. Use the search bar to look for the site. Note; There may be more than one entry. Remove All of them.
• Cache; Select Advanced > Network. Across from Cached Web Content, Press Clear Now.

If there is still a problem, Start Firefox in Safe Mode {web link} While you are in safe mode;

Type about:preferences#advanced<Enter> in the address bar.

Under Advanced, Select General. Look for and turn off Use Hardware Acceleration.

Poke around safe web sites. Are there any problems?

Then restart.

I did every step, same result. My gf is not getting the problem on her computer, I am trhing a reset;. sheez.

Are you sure that you posted the correct link? The page source of the two links that you posted seems to be the same.

That page source also looks weird as it ends with two closing </div> </div> and no closing </body></html>.

The validator shows a few errors about unclosed div tags.

cor-el, thank you for taking time to look at this, especially after I have messed up the posting of the problem. You are 100% correct, those two files are the same, the one named firefoxcrash.html and the one named firefoxnotcrash.html.

I think I have this organized now, so here another shot. I also will explain what is going on with the weird page.

Not much good comes from that file not crashing, because the div tags are not formed, not opening with <.

The reason I put the tags like that is through trial and error, narrowed the crash down to occurring only when that div tag was formed. why that div tag crashes FF is a big mystery to me. It does not crash any other browser.

I have no idea why the browser is crashing on that div.

cor-el, Regarding the validator, that is a red herring, right? Improper markup is not normally a browser crasher. I just want to make sure that the reason for the crash is that FF cannot gracefully handle imperfect markup.

I accessed both links. No problem on my system.

In the address bar, type about:crashes. Note: If any reports do not have BP in front of the numbers, click it and select Submit.

Using your mouse, mark the most resent 7 - 10 crash reports, and copy them. Now go to the reply box below and paste them in.

Type about:support in the address bar and press Enter. Under the main banner, press the button; Copy Text To Clipboard.. Then in the reply box at the bottom of this page, do a right click in the box and select Paste. This will show us your system details. No Personal Information Is Collected.

Can you try to resize the Firefox window to see if that has effect?

Start Firefox in Safe Mode to check if one of the extensions (Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem.

• Do NOT click the Reset button on the Safe Mode start window

You can try to disable hardware acceleration in Firefox.

• Tools > Options > Advanced > General > Browsing: "Use hardware acceleration when available"

You need to close and restart Firefox after toggling this setting.
