Cannot set up my email accounts, keep saying "username or password" is not correct, please help!!!!!!!!
I have been using THUNDERBIRD for more than 10 years and never had this problem! I have installed on many different desktops, laptops and macs, and had no problem. And this time when I tried to set up email accounts on this new computer, it just keeps saying "username or password is wrong"...I have 5 email business emails account (with the same domain), hosted by Network Solutions, all are working fine on my laptop and other computers. I copied word to word, number to number of the same settings, nothing is not correct. It just keeps saying wrong username and password. I have no idea where the problem is!! I never had this problem, I tried uninstall, reinstall, didn't help.
I can install and set up my accounts on MAILBIRD, and it's working. So there is nothing wrong with the servers...should be Thunderbird hidden settings or something. I dont' know.
Can some expert help please? I'm living on Thunderbird...I have been using it for more than 10 years and I'm addicted to it....please help!!!!
Thanks in advance!!!

I interesting note:
MAILBIRD uses port 993 for incoming mail but THUNDERBIRD uses port 143
When uses 143, it kept " checking capabilities...." then I changed to port 993 (like in MAILBIRD), it said "connected to.....mail," but then "timed out"
Any idea please???? help....extremely frustrated...
Thanks for trying....but I million checked and retyped my username/password still not doing anything. I tried OUTLOOK, it worked...so now what's the problem???
Does that mean I have to abandon this Thunderbird from now on??
try disabling your anti virus while you configure your account. Many anti virus program mess up the process.
I am having the same problem and disabling my anti-virus software did not help.
