I want to stop the ads/videos that keep popping up while I'm browsing.
I keep seeing ads at the top of my screen; additional windows come up with ads; and I get video ads at the lower right of my screen. This is all relatively new. Appeared after an update a few months ago. VERY ANNOYING!!! I really want this to stop, once and for all. Thanks in advance, for your help.

Sometimes a problem with Firefox may be a result of malware installed on your computer, that you may not be aware of.
You can try these free programs to scan for malware, which work with your existing antivirus software:
- Microsoft Safety Scanner
- MalwareBytes' Anti-Malware
- Anti-Rootkit Utility - TDSSKiller
- AdwCleaner (for more info, see this alternate AdwCleaner download page)
- Hitman Pro
- ESET Online Scanner
Microsoft Security Essentials is a good permanent antivirus for Windows 7/Vista/XP if you don't already have one.
Further information can be found in the Troubleshoot Firefox issues caused by malware article.

I was cautiously optimistic. I think Adblock Plus worked to block the annoying YouTube ads, but not the "banner type" that drop down across the top of the screen. Any other suggestions? Thanks.
I found that AdBlock, and it's brothers, keep all ads away from me. Try it. There are also other blocking programs.
