Possibly the easiest potential quick fixes, and one that should be done anyway to benefit general browsing, is to set the Firefox langauge preference so that en-US is the top one.

If you are using Google sso thattill there is often a setting on their page, at the bottom, to use particular countries, that may have been replaced with the option to use an exact location. Try using the cog top right in Google pages if you do not have a link at the bottom.

I am not sure what is the best method if you use Yahoo.

Please post back to say how you get on and, which search engine you are using (copy a link from a location bar search). Do you know was it a specific language version of Firefox or the standard English-US download you installed.

Clear the cache and remove cookies only from websites that cause problems.

"Clear the Cache":

  • Firefox/Tools > Options > Advanced > Network > Cached Web Content: "Clear Now"

"Remove Cookies" from sites causing problems:

  • Firefox/Tools > Options > Privacy > "Use custom settings for history" > Cookies: "Show Cookies"
