Firefox doesn't honor font color, style, etc. when copying from FF in Mac to Pages
I'm a brand new Mac user of two months. I need to copy a lot of emails into Pages that contain various font colors & styles. It is imperative that the font colors be retained. I used to be able to do this with no problem from the same email in a FF Windows 7 to MS Office environment. I tried it in Mac OS X and then updated to Yosemite. Everything is now updated (except FF), including Safari. Apple told me updating to Yosemite would solve the problem. It didn't. I also tried copying something in color from a random website in FF and it didn't honor the font color. However, it works in Safari. I would rather use FF. I cleared my cookies & did every update available. This issue has been consistent in all FF versions since getting the mac. Again, this was NEVER an issue in the windows environment. It is NOT an issue in Safari (which has similar add-ons).
Thank you for your help with this!

I should probably clarify. Apple didn't say it was inherent in their OS. That is my assumption based on what they did say about copying off the internet can sometimes be 'wonky.' I have since tried my suggestion when it comes to copying a recipe from the internet. It actually works.
I will mark this solved w/the following comment. I don't really consider it solved as the work around creates extra work that wasn't necessary in a windows environment. I have also sent feedback to apple regarding this. I will give them credit for, unlike may other companies, not blaming 'the other guy' (in this case FF).
I would really prefer to still be able to safely use my XP computer. ;-)
Thanks again for your assistance!

Type about:preferences#content<enter> in the address bar. Across from fonts and colors, press the Advanced button. On the bottom, turn on Allow Web Sites To Choose Their Own.
You can check for corrupted and duplicate fonts and other font issues: http://www.thexlab.com/faqs/multipleappsquit.html - Font Book 2.0 Help: Checking for damaged fonts http://www.creativetechs.com/iq/garbled_fonts_troubleshooting_guide.html
Thank you for your response, FredMcD. I followed your instructions and the allow web sites to choose their own was already checked. I spoke w/apple and apparently this problem is inherent w/their OS. While Safari does honor some of the font characteristics like color and font type, it doesn't honor other formatting. We did find sort of a work around for the email in case anyone is interested. Select "Print" and choose PDF. The PDF comes up exactly as it appears in the email. Name & save the PDF. Then it can be copied w/formats honored into pages.
Not sure what to do when coping things like recipes. :-( I guess I could copy to my email and go from there, lol. Or, I can find an updated anti-virus for my XP and use it. :-)
That was very good work. Well Done. Please flag your last post as Solved Problem so other will know.
I don't know how the recipes are displayed. Try to mark and copy, then paste.

Sorry I could not help you more. Good luck.
I recently discovered that printing to a PDF in FF doesn't work. I have attached a screen shot to show how the header cuts off some of the verbiage.
So, I guess I'm back to the old drawing board.
