I have a new Dell Windows 7 Professional Desktop dated 2013. Since hooking it up, FF has daily crashes. I wonder if I can use an older version of FF 26.0. My printer is a Brother 2014. I did not want Windows 8. Windows 7 is difficult enough. I do not know if professional changes anything. I prefer FF to IE on any day. IE is notorious for being unsafe. And FF is nice to the people who use it.

Firefox 26.0 (released on December 10, 2013) is no longer supported by Mozilla.

The latest Firefox 38.0.5 version works fine on my Windows 7 PC. I also have a Brother printer (MFC-J615W), but a lot older than what you have - like from 2010 or 2011 - works fine on Windows 7 and with Firefox.

Let's see if we can find out why Firefox is crashing on you. Please follow the steps below to provide us crash IDs to help us learn more about your crash.

  1. Enter about:crashes in the Firefox address bar and press Enter. A Submitted Crash Reports list will appear, similar to the one shown below.
  2. Copy the 5 most recent Report IDs that start with bp- and then go back to your forum question and paste those IDs into the "Post a Reply" box.

Note: If a recent Report ID does not start with bp- click on it to submit the report.

(Please don't take a screenshot of your crashes, just copy and paste the IDs. The below image is just an example of what your Firefox screen should look like.)

Hi, thanks for the crash report. The problem seems to be with your Intel HD Graphics Driver, which might need updating.

The article Upgrade your graphics drivers to use hardware acceleration and WebGL will give you more info, but first try turning off hardware acceleration as indicated near the bottom.

If your question is resolved by this or another answer, please take a minute to let us know. Thank you.
