I am on OSX.7.5 (old machine, cannot update.) Was just upgraded to Firefox 41.0.1. I can no longer select from any drop down list on any website. Prior to the upgrade, I could always select from drop down menus or autofill. There have been no other updates to any other software prior to this problem showing up. A few examples are: - I go to a website where it is asking for Name, Address, etc. The window shows up with prior entries, but I cannot highlight and select any option. - I am entering data such as credit card info, where I am required to select entries for the card type, expiration date, etc. Again, I cannot highlight or select my entries.

In most cases, I can type the entry (the whole thing, not just the first few characters) and hit "enter," to fill in the field. However, this is both annoying and does not always work.

I have restarted in Safe mode; no change to this problem. I have tried using autofill-type AddOns; still get the same problem.

Any ideas? Thanks.

Hi FredMcD. Ok, I ran that app and it verified that I am on the current version of Java (then, unfortunately, locked up all ability to select anything on Firefox, except Quit. Weird.) Anyway... willing to try next option.

Oh... obviously the one set of drop down menus that do work are on the task bar of websites (e.g., Log Off.)

Start Firefox in Safe Mode {web Link} by holding down the <Shift>

All attempts have been with very safe sites: banking, remote access to email behind firewall, etc.

Download Firefox Full Version For All languages And Systems {web link} Save the file. Then;

Using your file browser, open the Programs Folder on your computer.

Windows: C:\Program Files C:\Program Files (x86) Mac: Open the "Applications" folder. Linux: Check your user manual.

• Linux: If you installed Firefox with the distro-based package manager, you should use the same way to uninstall it - see Install Firefox on Linux. If you downloaded and installed the binary package from the Firefox download page, simply remove the folder Firefox in your home directory.

Look for, and rename any Mozilla or Firefox folders by adding .old to them.

After rebooting the computer, run a registry scanner. Then run the installer. If all goes well, remove the OLD folders when you are done.
