Open a window to Google translate, preset language choices, if desired. return to Thunderbird, view the message, click inside the text, 'Ctrl' + 'A' to select all text, 'Ctrl' + 'C' to copy to clipboard, return to Google translate, click inside translate input window 'Ctrl' + 'V' to paste text.
