How can I recover the menu bar when I have written a message?

I am online and have written a message but there is no menu bar for send, attach a message etc. How can I recover this menu bar?

View (Alt-V) - Toolbars Check 'Composition Toolbar'.

Press Alt or F10 in case the menu bar is hidden.

Thank you. Having done that before I tried it again. The 'menu bar' is checked, but there is no 'composition toolbar' listed.

You need to do that in the 'Write' window, not in the main Thunderbird window.

Many thanks. The Alt button revealed the menu in the write box.
