When the web page that is 'pinned' doesn't have a Favicon image to be displayed in a tab, a person used to be able to save that web page as a bookmark and add their own Favicon image for that bookmark. And then "pin" that bookmarked tab.
See if this extension works for you to accomplish that via saving a bookmark. https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/bookmarks-favicon-images/
You can install this extension:
- Bookmark Favicon Changer - Sonthakit: https://sites.google.com/site/sonthakit/bookmarkfaviconchanger
You need to right-click the "Free Install" button and select "This Frame > Open Frame in New Tab" to be able to allow the website to install the extension.
