Everything worked earlier today, it even states that Firefox is not secure I don't want to have to go back to Internet Explorer, but it looks as if I will have to.

I am running firefox on my home pc with no problems at all

Hi Kevin, when you are on the error page, could you click the Advanced button to expand the technical explanation? There should be a code which points more specifically to the problem. For example:

How to troubleshoot security error codes on secure websites

If it's that code, let us know how you do with the article.

If you're getting a different code, please let us know what it is for more suggestions.

By the way, are you running Windows XP, or do you have a newer version of Windows with Firefox set to run in backwards compatibility mode for Windows XP?

I'm asking because I noticed you have an Adobe Acrobat plugin from Reader or Acrobat X, which is no longer supported with security patches. On all versions of Windows other than Vista, you could run Adobe Reader XI (Reader 11), which is still supported for a bit longer.

You can choose your preferred version here:

https://get.adobe.com/reader/enterprise/

Note: You will need to use the internal updater to get the latest patches. From the Adobe Reader Help menu > Check for Updates.

If that doesn't work, you can manually download from the release notes page: https://helpx.adobe.com/acrobat/release-note/release-notes-acrobat-reader.html

  • 11.0.14 is the main cumulative update
  • 11.0.15 is a security patch needed after that
