Various articles do not work for me, x@centurytel.net, so would you please help me retrieve my disappeared Tbird email function?
On May 2, 2016, upon clicking on the Thunderbird icon on the desktop, instead of bringing up an email inbox, I got an announcement of Thunderbird 45.0 ??? plus support topics for various parts of the Mozilla-Thunderbird operation. CenturyLink , my isp and original email provider still provides basic inbox and send capabilities so I was able to get a new password, but it turns out that even that would not help with my efforts to upgrade or override the Thunderbird version that I have been using for threeplus years. I couldn't even get a click to work to start downloading an upgrade. There are no symptoms to describe. The Thunderbird email system overnight went from 100% working to 0% in that clicking on the icon does not bring up the inbox, although incoming emails are getting through to CenturyLink. I am running on Windows 7 and am still on I.E. 8 although I do not know if this has any bearing on the email situation. I have no special wish to return to the somewhat inferior CenturyLink email system so I hope you can provide me with some guidance towards returning my missing email capability. Thanks in advance.
