I tried the recover bookmarks steps (disappeared after Windows 10) but it did not work. Help

So after Windows 10 upgrade my Firefox bookmarks have disappeared. I tried the steps to restore (using the most current date) but after I finished the steps and re-started my computer my bookmarks are still missing. What did I do wrong? Thank you!!

Separate Security Issue: Update your Adobe Reader Version 2015.016.20039 Note: Other Software is offered in the download.

Start Firefox in Safe Mode {web Link} by holding down the <Shift>
(Mac=Options) key, and then starting Firefox. A small dialog should appear. Click Start In Safe Mode (not Refresh).

Is the problem still there?

Look on your desktop. Do you see a folder called; Old Firefox?
