if playback doesn't begin shortly, try restarting your browser
I keep getting this error message, also the same on chrome.
sometimes it works if i restart my computer but rarely works straight away and consistently doesn't work. only happened since the recent windows 10 update

playback for what?
Any chance the website needs Flash for "playback"? You don't seem to have a Flash Plugin installed for Firefox!
Chrome, IE, and Edge use different versions of Flash than what Firefox would use.
And if your issue is with HTML5 videos, do you have the N version of Win10?

i never had this issue prior to the newest windows 10 upgrade. You think it might have uninstalled it if it were a flash issue? all the browsers, edge, firefox and chrome would sometimes have that message

sometimes videos work, sometimes they don't also. can only be resolved with a restart but it is random whether it will work on a restart. plus... for some reason my windows notification stays sticking on the screen and can't move
No, I doubt if a Win10 update would have eliminated the Flash Plugin version.
If this problem is with all 3 browsers you tried, it's not solely a Firefox issue then. I think you need to zero in on a Windows issue.
As far as Flash for Firefox, the general consensus is that Flash is still "necessary" for Firefox, although many people who have "weighed-in" on the subject have mentioned that they got rid of Flash some time ago and don't miss it. Personally, while I hate Flash I do have it on Win7 for Firefox without it crashing Firefox, but I don't watch all that many videos.
You didn't answer about the N issue.
EU regulations mandate Win 10 editions include all the base features of the operating system but without Windows Media Player and related technologies pre-installed. And Korea has the KN versions of Windows 10, for similar reasons.
There are "packs" that need to be installed for full multi-media capabilities, without to install alternatives piecemeal.
