Lost my old e-mail (local folder) and address book
In switching from an old computer to a new computer, I have lost all of my old e-mail and my address book. Prior to decommissioning my old computer, I backed up a folder named Mozilla Thunderbird that was in Program Files on my C: drive to an external hard drive. Now that I have fired up the new computer and downloaded the newest version of Mozilla Thunderbird, I see that I seem to have made a critical mistake because I cannot find my old e-mail or address book anywhere in that old Mozilla Thunderbird folder that I backed up. In the folder that I backed up, there is a sub-folder named "Defaults", and in that there is a "Profile" and "Pref" sub-folder, but the Profile folder is empty and the Pref folder only has 1kb java script file that doesn't appear to be relevant. Is there something else I should be looking for somewhere else? What should I have backed up from my old computer? Where would it have been situated?

Thunderbird stores all personal data such as messages, address books and configuration settings in an OS folder called the Profile. This folder is separate from the installation of Thunderbird.
