Why crasht Windows 10 when I start Thunderbird

more options

The last week's Windows 10 is crashing with a blue screen, sometimes , when I start Thunderbird ( screen: Kmode exception, Tcip) I have Thunderbird 52.1.1 32 bits. Thunderbird starts, but within a second W10 crashes. It happens not always, sometimes a couple of days not, and than 2 times a day. It happens also when I start the PC from sleeping mode. I switched already off the extension of Mcafee spam in Thunderbird, but that doesn't helps

What can I do to prevent this? Windows 10 is not crashing with other programs. I have an up to date Windows 10 and an up to date McAfee. For malware etc. I am also checking my pc with malware byte and Hitman pro.

I am not sure, but I think it happens after the last update of Thunderbird.

  1. 1 disable McAfee Anti-spam in Thunderbird addons
  1. 2 if you are bluescreening you have a hardware problem or a software kernel problem that is caused either by hardware drivers, OS or other kernel mode software like AV software

Thank you, Wayne Mery 1. I disabled already McAfee Anti spam 2. I checked already the updates for drivers and updated AV etc. That didn't help.

But why happens this only if I start Thunderbird? Then it must have something to do with Thunderbird (?)

Start Windows in safe mode. If Thunderbird then doesn't crash Windows, the cause definitely isn't Thunderbird

Thank you Wayne Mery I started Windows in the safe mode and there were no crashes any more. But.......also back to the normal Windows mode: no crashes so far. If windows crashes again, I will try again your solution. I hope that will never be necessary...
