Often when I go away I receive no emails and an icon comes up thunderbird not connected to server. When I take my laptop back into the house it picks up emails but the same message is there thunderbird not connected to server. It also greats a problem that I cannot reply to emails sent. First check to see if Thunderbird is working Offline.
In the bottom left corner of Thunderbird you will see one of the two icons below. When Thunderbird is Offline, you will see the icon with the red circle and x.
Click the icon to switch back and forth between online and offline.
If that is not your issue, then you/we need to take a look at the e-mail server settings you have in Thunderbird to see if they are correct.
To help you with this, please post here your Thunderbird Troubleshooting Information.
At the top right of the Thunderbird window, click the menu button (or use the regular menu at the top), then select Help: Troubleshooting Information.
Click the "Copy text to clipboard" button. Do not check the box "Include account names" Then paste (Ctrl-V), the text into your response here. We only need to see the sections down to and including the "Extensions" section, so you can delete the rest.
