hi, first please make sure that the date, time & timezone are set correctly set correctly on your system. if this doesn't solve the issue (or it is already set properly), a solution depends on the individual circumstances:

• what is the error code shown when you click on advanced on that error page?
• please also give us more information about the error by clicking on the error code, copying the text to the clipboard and then pasting it here into a reply in the forum.

It is possible that some CSS files are blocked. You can possibly check the Web Console (Tools -> Web Developer) for error messages about blocked and unsafe and mixed content.

Use "Ctrl+F5" or "Ctrl+Shift+R" to reload the page and bypass the cache to generate a fresh log.

Boot the computer in Windows Safe mode with network support to see if that has effect in case security software is causing problems.

The key thing is you made an exception for a fake certificate for, I assume, ebay.com but eBay uses additional servers for critical content of the pages (e.g., ebaystatic.com, ebayimg.com, ebayrtm.com). Since it is neither practical nor safe to make exceptions for fake certificates for the numerous additional servers used by popular sites the core task is to figure out why Firefox is raising these objections.

You wonder: why only Firefox? Firefox uses an independent certificate store, and needs to be set up to trust fake certificates of the kind generated by certain security software and by "man in the middle" malware. Edge, IE and Chrome share the Windows certificate store, so whatever was necessary to set up one to trust the fake certificates works for all of them.

i have sorted it, i dont know why it was doing it, but i removed Firefox totally from my PC, ran system restore again and took my PC back 3 days, then reinstalled a version of Firefox i had downloaded ages ago, V46, and now it works fine.....so why it was doing that i have no idea...... :( but looking at other posts, it seems quite a common problem :(

It is a common problem to get that error screen because of the popularity of the programs listed in the following article: How to troubleshoot security error codes on secure websites.

Please update to a current version of Firefox. Version 46 is not secure; Mozilla discloses security flaws after each new release.
