Disable the search tips bar that displays on new tab
Just updated to Firefox 55.0.1 (64-bit) from 32-bit. I've done a refresh.
Many times (but for some reason not everytime) I use Ctrl-T or click the + to create a new tab, there is a bar that pops up over the top of the bookmark toolbar. This bar appears to have no functionality other than to display a tip. I have attached a screen shot of it.
I commonly open a new tab and then select one of the bookmarks from the bookmark toolbar, but this tip bar obscures it.
How to I get rid of the tip bar?

I see these two prefs related to this tip:
- browser.urlbar.lastSuggestionsPromptDate
- browser.urlbar.timesBeforeHidingSuggestionsHint (default = 4)
You can open the about:config page via the location/address bar. You can accept the warning and click "I'll be careful" to continue.
If you keep seeing this tip then check for issues with the preferences.

Also make sure that the date and time on your computer are correct.

Is this still happening ? Have you by any chance used Mac OS and have this happen, or does / did this happen on Windows only ?
On a new tab the cursor automatically moved into the address bar so you can start typing a search or an address. That top line will immediately start to reflect what you are doing in the bar. I don't know when it started appearing before you type anything.
Possibly if you click that Options link there might be a way to influence that?
As a short-term workaround, pressing the Tab key to move the cursor into the search box may get rid of the address bar drop-down.
