new install, all search engines blocked, why?

New installation, all <strike>passwords</strike> search engines blocked. All said bad certificate, connection not safe. Seems to be some interaction with Kaspersky AV. When I enabled Kaspersky protection, problem went away. Is this how things should work?

If you install Kaspersky first, then Firefox, I think Kaspersky does not set up Firefox to trust it as a "man in the middle" reading all your web requests. That might happen automatically if you do a normal Windows shutdown and restart, or there may be a feature in Kaspersky to trigger it, or you can manually set up Firefox to trust Kaspersky, although this seldom appears to be necessary.

edit: should have said all search engines blocked, not passwords. Don't know how I messed that one up.
