In responsive design mode, middle mouse button is not functional either for opening new tabs when clicking hyperlinks nor for click-scrolling. Please advise.

That would be a driver issue that most likely isn't compatible with FF57, you have to check the mouse driver site to see if there is a update to work with FF57.
