I cannot set Firefox as my default browser in Android 5.0, using a Samsung Galaxy Note 3
After my Galaxy Note developed an unsolvable problem, I was left with no option but to reset it. After everything had been reinstalled, and updated as required, I then started to set up the apps to my liking. However, I am unable to set any default app preference for Firefox. The option is grayed out. I have disabled and uninstalled Google Chrome, & rebooted the phone, all to no avail. Google don't seem to want me to set any default apps, except their own!

Why would you want to set Firefox as default browser in the first place? In other words, what are you doing that requires you to set a default browser? If any action requires to specify an app as default app Android will prompt you for it. You can then permanently choose Firefox for that action.

I want to set Firefox as my default browser because I prefer it to other browsers. The point here is, that when the Android system asks me "just once, or always" and I choose always, you probably know what happens, so I won't bore you with that. So, I try to change the default browser, but the option is greyed out, perhaps you didn't read my post properly?

I did. But perhaps you should read my posts again carefully.
