Google Docs on FireFox ,

Thanks this Forum helping me resolving GDoc problems on FF; I opted to continue using GDoc on FF (to read, but not edit due to the continuous operational problems).

Now next I would like to resolve the problems of deleting/moving texts in GDoc: I can easily paste in blocks of text anywhere as in a regular Word Processor, I can copy/paste block of text within the GDoc, but not so easy in removing/ deleting.

Encountering very time consuming/ painful tasks of non-uniforming/ non predictable behaviour of keyboard editing/deleting/moving the text within the GDoc.

I can sometimes cut word/words in one line, but not the whole line, no multi lines; then frequent timeout, constant trial/error.

Never this problems on Chrome.

What's going on and what to do?

moderator edited to remove the leading line spaces which trigger a horizontal scroll bat - please don't indent any lines of text

Start Firefox in Safe Mode to check if one of the extensions ("3-bar" menu button or Tools -> Add-ons -> Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is is causing the problem.

  • switch to the DEFAULT theme: "3-bar" menu button or Tools -> Add-ons -> Appearance
  • do NOT click the "Refresh Firefox" button on the Safe Mode start window

Background: The GDoc problem started last fall after an Firefox update. It was so bad, I gave it up using GDoc on FF, until recently after learning the mouse click would not do, but key up/down/return to get control of navigation etc.

Now like to find tips dealing with Delete/Backspace : both act erratically, almost like it needs to pray for that it to work, sometime comes quickly, most of time wait, if the FF/GDoc mind coming back to rescue.

Currently, I can delete/backspace a selection within a line, but not the whole line, sometime a word, but not with enjoining spaces?

Does the same thing happen in Word Online?

Thanks.

Problems disappeared while in Safe Mode.

      "C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox\firefox.exe" -safe-mode
Deleting/BackSapace keys all worked normally in GDoc as in other programs.

will now progress testing the three addons.

Thanks.

OK, with Firefox refreshed after all addons were removed,

the delete/backspace keys now worked normally.

That FF Refresing after all Addon removed also seemed to also have cleared other GDoc Menu Dropdown Navigation Key Problems previously Experienced.

I have now added back some Addons, after twice closing off FF/back on,

 still working properly.

Great Sign and Reelief. Thanks.
