how do i permanently stop websites like Pinterest showing up in searches?
Certain websites like Pinterest show up when I do searches - they are pure clickbait and keep asking me to setup a pinterest account. I know that when i am searching I can use "-Pinterest" to stop pinterest results showing up - but is there a way to make it so pinterest results are permanently excluded whenever I search? I would also like to use this for things like youtube - where I want to search for videos - but don't want youtube's clickbait results every-time.
Google chrome has this function - does mozilla?

Hi mllusby, I assume you're using Google as your search engine. You can try the Google Search Filter add-on to filter items in Google searches: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/g-search-filter/ I haven't tried it though.
To filter out sites from all browsing, you can try the uBlock Origin add-on: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/ublock-origin/

Hi, use a ad blocker like uBlock Origin. Since never search in Youtube always do it in Google I would not know but there are these : https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/search/?platform=windows&q=you+tube+search
yeah that doesn't answer my question - it's not a pop up issue. It's when I use image search in google for example and type in something like "gibson les paul". the results page will give me lots of pictures of a gibson les paul - which is what I want - but most of them will be from pinterest. If I click on it - I can't even view the picture without answering a million questions from pinterest or having to sign up for an account.
So what i want to know is - how do i set my browser (firefox) to return images for everything EXCEPT pinterest without having to type in "-pinterest" every time I search? Essentially - how do i permanently block pinterest from EVER showing up in my search results? In Google chrome - - you can choose the "block this website" function. What is the equivalent in Firefox?

Hi, it is not a Browser issue. If you want better searches create a Google account and login to Google Search so you can adjust your search with the tools supplies.
Or search as you always do and then click on images then click above that, Settings and then Advanced search and can also use besides settings Tools.
Also search shortcuts as you mentioned gibson les paul-pinterest Google for about 100 other ways to search.
Firefox provides a search box that links to Search Engines, That is it.
