When opening firefox files.com and mozzilla.org opens instead of my homepage.
When I startup firefox "www.files.com/Mozilla" pops up along with "firefox/firefox.exe" which redirects to: "https://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/new/?utm_medium=referral&utm_source=firefox-com"
This happens even when I set my homepage to something different.

Hey everyone I figured out what was wrong. For some reason the shortcut read the file path as what to open in the tabs. I just moved the firefox folder to the C: drive and renamed it to aboutblank and now I get a blank page when I open. (This is what I want.) Thanks for all the help but I solved it.
My last question is that is anything going to go wrong because I put the Mozilla Firefox folder into my C: drive directly instead of in program files and that I renamed the folder? (other than bad organization)

Start Firefox in Safe Mode {web link} by holding down the <Shift> (Mac=Options) key, and then starting Firefox.
A small dialog should appear. Click Start In Safe Mode (not Refresh). Is the problem still there?

Are you opening Firefox using its icon on the toolbar, or are you using a shortcut?

How are you starting Firefox on Windows?
Check your desktop shortcut to make sure there is nothing added on end after firefox .exe

I am opening it with the toolbar, and the shortcut. Either way does not change it. Even going to the file location of the shortcut and opening it that way still opens it with the websites added on.

You can check the target line in the Firefox desktop shortcut (right-click: Properties) to make sure nothing is appended after the path to the Firefox program.
You can check the home page setting.
- Options/Preferences -> Home -> Home page
Firefox supports multiple home pages separated by '|' (pipe) symbols.

Thanks for the reply, but I already tried this.
Hello Potato_Pio,
When I click on that www.files.com/Mozilla ( using different browsers, and trying it numerous times with Firefox) I get all kinds of different pages - all malware ......
(I made the link unclickable here)
May I suggest that you run all malware scans that are listed in this article :
https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/troubleshoot-firefox-issues-caused-malware
Better safe than sorry ......
Do a clean reinstall of the current Firefox release and delete the Firefox program folder before installing a fresh copy of the current Firefox release.
- download the Firefox installer and save the file to the desktop
*https://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/all/
If possible uninstall your current Firefox version to cleanup the Windows Registry and settings in security software.
- do NOT remove "personal data" when you uninstall the current Firefox version, because this will remove all profile folders and you lose personal data like bookmarks and passwords including data in profiles created by other Firefox versions
Remove the Firefox program folder before installing that newly downloaded copy of the Firefox installer.
- (64-bit Firefox) "C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox\"
- (32-bit Firefox) "C:\Program Files (x86)\Mozilla Firefox\"
- it is important to delete the Firefox program folder to remove all the files and make sure there are no problems with files that were leftover after uninstalling
- http://kb.mozillazine.org/Uninstalling_Firefox
Your personal data like bookmarks is stored in the Firefox profile folder, so you won't lose personal data when you reinstall or update Firefox, but make sure NOT to remove personal data when you uninstall Firefox as that will remove all Firefox profile folders and you lose your personal data.
If you keep having problems then you can create a new profile to test if your current profile is causing the problem.

You can place your Firefox profile anywhere you want, including an external hard drive. The only thing is that Firefox has to know where that profile is located.
