When writing, typing location sudden reverts to location where cursor started or is resting. How to fix?
Thanks to all for looking. When composing an email, click to set the cursor in the correct location. Start typing. Stop typing for a few seconds, then resume. Suddenly the typing has reverted to the location the cursor was left. the result is I've now typed a sentence into the middle of another sentence half way up the page.
Can this be a setting somewhere. I'm being quite careful not to hit any key unintentionally. Win 7. updated, current Thunderbird
Is there an automatic spell corrector as one has on their cell phone?
Thanks

re :Suddenly the typing has reverted to the location the cursor was left.
what do you mean by 'cursor'? Are you talking about the mouse pointer or the flashing vertical line text cursor used in text?
If you stop typing and for some reason use the mouse to move the mouse pointer and do a left click then you will have moved the text cursor, so it will start from where ever you put it or as you say the location the cursor was left.
Note there are various keyboard keys that also move a text cursor. eg: space keys, arrow keys, page up, home
To further clarify the problem. With a click, set the location to start typing. Type several lines. Rest and think for a few seconds. Haven't touched the mouse (trackball). Blinking line moves with the typing action and stays at the end of the text unless.
moved. Resume typing and then notice that typing has now started where the mouse cursor was left several minutes earlier, further up the page. The result is a sentence inserted into the middle of another sentence. It has happened twice while writing this note. Is this the same word processor as used in Thunderbird?
