Hello,

I have FF 68.2.0ESR 32bit on Win7. I now want to move to a different machine, using Linux (RHEL8) with FF 68.1.0 ESR 64Bit. I transferred the profile from the Windows machine to the Linux machine and everything came over perfectly. But the passwords are not offered after selecting a login. Example: There is a page with "login" and "password". I have two accounts for this page. I click into "login" and both login-names are offered by firefox. I select one account. Now I'd expect that the password is filled automatically. But it isn't. Even if I click also into the "password" field. The same with pages where I have only one account.

I found some threads where key3.db is mentioned. I searched in my profile folder and didn't find a key3.db but a key4.db. I created a copy of key4.db and named it key3.db. No success. The permissions of the files where 600 (rw-------). Ich changed them to 644. -> No success.

What might be missing here?

Additional info:

It seems that I cannot store any logins/passwords at all.

Is there a logfile or some STD/ERR-out written by firefox?

a new profile can store logins/passwords. So basically a file permissions seem to be right.

Is the profile name or profile path encoded in the pasword hash?
