Have updated Thundrbird but my profile, folders, emails, address book all seem to have disappeared - how do I restore them?
I have run Thunderbird on Linux Mint for some years with no problem. Currently running Mint 18 and, with other updates in my Update Manager, have just updated Thunderbird to 68.7.0 but everything has disappeared. Hopefully it is still there on my hard drive but I need to get Thunderbird back up and running correctly as there is important information I need there.

There is a known bug which might have caused the problem, so is worth trying to see if it fixes in your case.

Thanks - I'll check that out when I get a moment and I'll let you know how it works.
otherwise I suggest you look at https://thunderbirdtweaks.blogspot.com/2019/09/i-lost-my-profilemail-on-update-to.html
Profile per install is causing some difficulties for some people.
Many thanks Toad-Hall - this worked for me and was very easy.
Matt - thanks, yours might work too, but I could not use it even if needed as the instructions started with "First navigate to the Troubleshooting information on the help menu. Scroll to the bottom of the "Application Basics" information and select the last entry." For me I could click on "Troubleshooting information" but then I got nothing.
