Webgl game, no multiplayer access. Single player Only.
I have played a game urban-rivals.com for many years using Mozilla firefox on my laptop. (I've never done anything to the default browser settings, and only had one add blocker add on downloaded) This week I bought a new pc and installing Mozilla was the first thing I did. (reinstalled the same add blocker and have the settings exactly the same as before).
When I went to the games site, and loaded the webgl game, everything seemed okay. I was able to play a few matches against the games bots. However if I try to play any mode verse another person I get an in game error there. It says matchmaking isn't available.
So there is some setting in Mozilla that is preventing me from playing solely multiplayer matches in this game.
(just to test, if I play on microsoft Edge, it works fine)
Does anyone know of some setting I could change to fix this? I'de appreciate any help. This is kind of a weird one.

The game is now playing properly. I have no clue what changed, but its making contact with the server.
I was also in customer support with the game developers themselves and but all they said to me was to use Chrome. (which I not so kindly told them off).
Thanks for your help. Eventhough I don't know the solution, i'll mark this solved.

You can check the graphics section on the "Help -> Troubleshooting Information" (about:support) page for possible WebGL related messages.
If you use extensions ("3-bar" menu button or Tools -> Add-ons -> Extensions) that can block content (Adblock Plus, NoScript, Disconnect, Ghostery, Privacy Badger, uBlock Origin) always make sure such extensions do not block content.
- make sure your extensions and filters are updated to the latest version
- https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/troubleshoot-extensions-themes-to-fix-problems
Firefox shows a blueish highlighted shield icon at the left end of the location/address bar in case Tracking Protection is blocking content. You can click shield icon for more detail and possibly disable the protection. You can check in the Web Console what content is blocked.
- "3-bar" menu button or Tools -> Web Developer
- https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/enhanced-tracking-protection-firefox-desktop
The only extension I use is uBlock Origin, at its default settings. I had used that on my old laptop as well though. Still I turned it off to try and this did not help.
I also tried turning off advanced tracking protection as well (both w/ublock on and off). Again sadly no positive result.
I went through the link about fixing extensions and ran the "refresh firefox" option to no avail. Attempted the start in safe mode but Webgl won't run at all in that mode.
Lastly I tried looking through (about:support) but it gets real technical in there. Kind of above my level of understanding, but I'll try to focus in there more tomorrow.
As of right now though, I haven't found anything to solve this yet.
I really appreciate your suggestions at this point, and hope to figure this out. I would hate to have to use another browser for one website.

Would anyone have a clue what I would be looking for in the (about:support) files to show the webgl error?
You can search the about:support page for 'webgl' (Ctrl+F).
See also the Web Console for webgl related messages.
- "3-bar" menu button or Tools -> Web Developer
- https://developer.mozilla.org/en-US/Tools/Web_Console
Using the Web Developer, I went to the "console tab" and check error messages, at first I get this "writeStringToMemory is deprecated and should not be called! Use stringToUTF8() instead!"
Then I just get this next message on repeat
" [Socket] Error while connecting to server, retrying in a few seconds !
(Filename: ./Runtime/Export/Debug/Debug.bindings.h Line: 35)"
Is this information possibly helpful to my problem?
