Cannot Log Into Online Banking Site
I am having trouble logging into my bank's website from Firefox. It's worked fine for several years and I have no clue what triggered it all of a sudden. Furthermore, I can log in just fine from various other browsers.
I have Google around on the issue for awhile now, and have troubleshooted several different things based on what I've Googled, such as clearing all site cookies, data, cache, etc. Also I had a pop-up blocker add-on but I removed it and that didn't do anything. Lastly, I tried completely uninstalling Firefox and re-installing it without ANY add-ons, but it still doesn't work.
Details on what happens: I go to the log in page, and I put in my user and password and click to log in, and it does nothing. It just basically refreshes the page, so the page comes back up with blank user and password fields.
Any help/ideas on the matter would be much appreciated. Thanks.

Thanks for the feedback. I'm a little confused, though. What is the purpose of creating a new Firefox profile? Is that supposed to lead to a solution of being able to log into my bank account? And what do you mean by "Use this new profile as is?"

I created a new profile and brought the page back up to attempt log in again, but I'm still having the same issue. After digging around on other posts, I noticed someone mentioning to look at the web developer web console. So I looked at that. This is getting over my head at this point, though. Figured I'd attach screenshots of it, however, in case it would shed some light into the issue. It appears there are issues with some of the cookies.
Also, on occasion, instead of simply refreshing the log in page, the site goes to an error page that says: "The page isn't redirecting properly. An error occurred during a connection to xxxxxxxx.com. This problem can sometimes be caused by disabling or refusing to accept cookies."

If there is something in your profile causing the issue, trying a 'clean' profile may prove this.
Don't change any settings or install any add-ons.

I've been having the same issue now for almost two months!!!! This is ridiculous! AND, the only help you can get is from folks(though sincere) can only offer suggestions rather than Mozilla/Firefox providing technical help... shameful!
I guess it's time to go back to Internet Explorer if Firefox is going to create issues like this and then not offer a solution!
Just out of curiosity... is there anyone out there who knows what Firefox has done to keep us from logging into our banks? What changes took place that has created this issue???

Fred, Thanks for the response again. However, the clean profile did not solve the problem. Still doing the same thing. And I've already done all the things mentioned in the last link you provided.... though I tried it all again to no avail.
I would have to agree with Dan's post. This is frustrating and appears there is no quick/easy solution. And it appears this is a problem with Firefox on many banks' websites, not just mine. Not only is Dan also having a problem, but I'm seeing other posts on this site related to this issue that have not been resolved: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/1294115 (see last unanswered post by Toni).
All that being said, I'm beginning to run out of patience on the issue. I've already spent too much time looking into this, so I'm very likely to opt for another browser and just try my luck again with Firefox when they come out with another update. Maybe it'll be addressed then.
Is there any way to submit a request to Firefox to fix the issue?

This issue can be caused by corrupted cookies or blocked cookies.
- check the permissions for the domain in the currently selected tab in "Tools -> Page Info -> Permissions"

If you use extensions ("3-bar" menu button or Tools -> Add-ons -> Extensions) that can block content (Adblock Plus, NoScript, Disconnect, Ghostery, Privacy Badger, uBlock Origin) always make sure such extensions do not block content.

Firefox shows a purple shield instead of a gray shield at the left end of the location/address bar in case Enhanced Tracking Protection is blocking content. You can click shield icon for more detail and possibly disable the protection. You can check the Web Console for messages about blocked content.

You can try these steps in case of issues with webpages:
You can reload webpage(s) and bypass the cache to refresh possibly outdated or corrupted files.
- hold down the Shift key and left-click the Reload button
- press "Ctrl + F5" or press "Ctrl + Shift + R" (Windows,Linux)
- press "Command + Shift + R" (Mac)
Clear the Cache and remove the Cookies for websites that cause problems via the "3-bar" Firefox menu button (Options/Preferences).

You can remove all data stored in Firefox for a specific domain via "Forget About This Site" in the right-click context menu of an history entry ("History -> Show All History" or "View -> Sidebar -> History").
Using "Forget About This Site" will remove all data stored in Firefox for this domain like history and cookies and passwords and exceptions and cache, so be cautious. If you have a password or other data for that domain that you do not want to lose then make sure to backup this data or make a note.
You can't recover from this 'forget' unless you have a backup of involved files.
If you revisit a 'forgotten' website then data for that website will be saved once again.
I also had this problem trying to use paypal to pay for an eventbrite. I then tried with Safari, same thing. .then I bought something on eBay, no trouble at all. I think it COULD be that the security of the SITE (in this case eventbrite) has been compromised? Or not... a fluke? I can't find out where to disable pop up Blockers on Firefox. Help, this is ridiculous, particularly if we are all going to have to go DIGITAL, with govt tracking of all financial transactions. Gotta be able to PAY FOR STUFF!
I am so disappointed with Firefox... for those of us who are not savvy with all the terms and methods in correcting issues caused by firefox, then along with Mozilla/Firefox lack of interest in taking care of those who use firefox when there are such issues does not encourage promotion of Firefox.
This issue with with login at our bank website does not affect others, internet explorer, chrome, etc.... ONLY ON FIREFOX!!!!!!!
It appears there are others out there who are having the same issue... and, there are MANY solutions OFFERED by some wonderful volunteers on the community panel. However, it appears no one knows exactly what is going on... and all the while Mozilla/Firefox is silent.... shameful!
This is ridiculous! I'm sure thousands can't log into their online banking now using Firefox. Me included. I've tried every one of the suggestions above and still have same problem.
My issue is when I log into my banking there is an added security step that pops up another question that must be answered. When I put the answer in there and click login, I get a spinning wheel for a few seconds and then it stops. It never takes me into my banking.
Only a problem on Firefox and is the reason I'm going back to Chrome.
I have the same issue logging into my bank. When I want to check my balance or pay that card, I use Chrome with NO issues. It is the ONLY thing I use Chrome for.
I have NO issues using FF to log into my credit union, nor my credit card account, nor eBay, nor Paypal, only my bank.

Remove History For One Site {web link}
Open the History Manager <Control> (Mac=<Command>) <Shift> H. In the search bar, enter the name of the site. Right-click on one of the listings and select Forget About This Site. This should remove all information, including any site settings
I have the same problem with not being able to log in to ScotiaBank. I have resolved the issue by installing an earlier version of Firefox ver. 72.0.2 Be sure to enable sync and back-up your bookmarks before installing the earlier version.
I have the same problem. FF 85.0 and previous let me log in to my online banking just fine. FF 85.0.1 has a problem! I tried several times to log in and was told either my username or password or both were WRONG!, even when I displayed the password and triple checked it. I had cleared FF cache (even used Ccleaner) and removed many of the history entries, and still got the error. I used Windows latest Chrome edition and logged in with NO trouble! ( They asked me a security question because of the number of failed log ins.)
My bank told me that they had updated their software recently, and they are checking the problem with the FF browser. That 15 minutes ago. Probably several days before I get an email answer. FF updated from 85.0 to 85.0.1 today.
