Recently anytime I've tried watching videos on Youtube or Twitter on my desktop PC I've been having issues. On Youtube, It takes about 5 seconds to start a video (including ads), 5 seconds to load up a place I skipped to in the video even if it's loaded, and if I go to the start of the video sometimes it won't even try playing. On Twitter, videos are hit or miss, most won't play, and others will autoplay but will stop working if you pause or skip. Tumblr and TikTok work fine.

I've tried running a private tab (disabling extensions) and still have issues, I've tried turning off hardware acceleration, clearing data, and even reinstalling Firefox. I tried both Twitter and Youtube on Chrome and video playback worked just as well as Firefox used to. I also updated my video card driver to see if it'd help without luck. I have great internet that I haven't had recent issues with either to cause loading problems.

I hope to find a solution soon, I haven't found anyone else sharing this issue yet, but that I've found, it's Firefox. If there's any additional information that'd be helpful that I can get I can try getting it.

I've found the resolution and it didn't have to do with Firefox. I had to reinstall my audio drivers and apparently the issue was associated with audio instead of video which I thought. I suspected it when it took way too long to load a Discord call and sound effects happened later than they were meant. Not sure if there was an update that broke it or what, but it looks (and sounds) resolved.

Try Firefox Safe Mode to see if the problem goes away. Firefox Safe Mode is a troubleshooting mode that temporarily turns off hardware acceleration, resets some settings, and disables add-ons (extensions and themes). If Firefox is open, you can restart in Firefox Safe Mode from the Help menu: Click the menu button.
