I have certain sites that I would like to whitelist, so I don't have to worry about turning off the ad blocking for sites I trust.

Hi

Firefox for Android does not come with an ad-blocker preinstalled. I recommend that you have a look at the independent add-on for Firefox for Android, uBlock Origin, available from the add-ons option in the Firefox for Android menu.
